CARBO XXIV: 24th Annual National Conference of Association of Carbohydrate Chemists & Technologists (India) [ACCT(I)] in collaboration with Indian Guar Gum Manufacturers’ Association (IGGMA) has has finalized the name of Dr. S.N. Moorthy, CTCRI, Trivandrum for receiving this year’s Life Time Achievement Award (2009) at CARBO XXIV to be held in Jodhpur on 7th December to 9th December 2009 for his outstanding contribution in the field of tuber crop starches and his significant contribution towards Carbohydrate Chemistry.
Carbohydrate Conference is an annual activity of the Association of Carbohydrate Chemists and Technologists (India), which is a registered society. The theme of this year’s conference is Industrial Polysaccharides & Biological Significance of Carbohydrates. This conference will focus on value addition & derivatization of Guar Gum, Tamarind Kernel Powder, Cassia tora, Starch, Cellulose and other industrial polysaccharides. There will be a detailed session on procedural part related to export & import, patent filing and quality control aspects with special reference to method development & validation. It will also include the plenary lectures, invited lectures and oral & poster presentations on recent trends in the area of carbohydrates and their industrial applications in pharmaceuticals as well as in nutraceuticals.
